Our 2011 Performers
Medieval Festivals always have a plethora of roaming actors and performers, and Mutton and Mead is no exception. Look for the following performers and "outside acts" at the festival:

GIACOMO the JESTER is the son of Zampano, jester to the duke Orsino. He apprenticed for many years with his father learning the arts of sorcery, juggling, ropewalking and storytelling. From his father he acquired his resourcefulness and a quick wit.

CU DUBH (Coo Do) is the sound of ancient thundering war drums and skirling dual bagpipes like you’ve never heard before.

COMMEDIA MANIA is a show of laughs, masks, slapstick, and shameless theatrical nonsense! The troupe makes its Massachusetts debut to tell the tales of The New Wife, A Turkish Suitor and The Great Scottish Comedy of all time MACBETH! The Maniac's can also be seen all day long telling any tale you wish in just two minutes!

Be amazed by THE JOLLY JESTERS, a Medieval Circus that will delite all manner of folk with their feats of manual dexterity, juggling, balancing, tumbling and acrobatics, spiced with buffoonery and fun.

ROUNDTABLE PRODUCTIONS: Step back in time and witness an event fit for kings, queens and commoners alike. Witness knights in shinning armor, ladies in majestic gowns, the grandeur of colorful warhorses, all the pomp and pageantry you'd expect in a Royal Joust.

With a deep Celtic influence, EMPTY HATS has been entertaining audiences all over the country, performing at Renaissance Faires and Music Festivals.

HAPPY DAN THE MUSIC MAN will be keeping things fun in the Kids Glen Singing songs, Playing many diverse instrument, Story telling, Puppets, leading some games!

The MAGIC STORY THEATER is Eve Christoph's mobile puppet theater in which she performs her original new-fable stories. She brings with her a caravan of ornate tents and hand made puppets to bring these stories to life.

MAYTHORN presents traditional ballads arranged in striking new harmonies, as well as original ballads composed in the old styles.

RUFUS the MUD BEGGAR will be wandering about the shire all day – throw some money in his bowl and he’ll play you a song. (Of course, if you don’t give him any money, he’ll probably play anyways – he’s not proud). Or, give him a hug for luck – it brings him luck, anyway.

Shenandoah created ALOTTA HOOPLA to bring the ancient art of Hooping back into our communities. Come see her perform and you will discover hula hooping as an art.

THE TWISTED PIXIES are Mischief Makers and Mercenaries of Mayhem. They are Renaissance Faire performers specializing in street work, magic tricks, and blowing bubbles.

CANTABILE is a self-directed vocal ensemble that specializes in a cappella performances of vocal chamber music from the European Renaissance. We are joined today by lutenist Chris Stetson.

GYPSY PARTY / Middle Eastern Dance. Come see Asherah (a teacher at North Star for Teens), Crystal McNeil (Naajida), Attar (teacher in the Amherst area), Sharon (Greenfield Community College), Cyndal Ellis (Arab-American fusion in Brattleboro), Pacita Prasarn (has taught internationally), as well their students and friends as they dance the day away!

MELA is a folk band of original tunes that features an eclectic folky mix of flute, harmonies and hand drums. The name MELA is a Sanskrit word that means "gathering of people" or "festival."

WANDERING MINSTRALS: Jesse Elmer, Crystal McNeil, and Dan Frank, and others will be infusing the air with music, as well as John and Jan Haigis of PastTimesPresent.com

ENCHANTED SHERWOOD FOREST PERFORMERS: Cyndal Ellis, Frank Mohr, Erin Vigil, Alyse Landis and Lauren Wilson and friends will bring enchanted tree sprites, faeries and brownies as well as countless other creatures to life for your delight.
- Cotswold style morris from the Oxfordshire region of England will be performed by JUGGLER MEADOW MORRIS MEN, and WAKE ROBIN MORRIS.
